In public, a celebrity is under constant siege of paparazzi flashes and even the smallest imperfection can be exposed by sensational article seekers. From the body-shape point of view, all celebrities are striving to reach an ideal body shape. Usually, for a celebrity, beauty is associated with more exposure, appreciation and financial income, of course. Celebrities are ready to perform huge sacrifices and follow controversial diets in order to keep their weight under control. Female stars, especially, are obsessed about weight loss.

Here are a few controversial diets followed by female celebrities. These diets are considered controversial because most of them are not followed or prescribed to the average Joe. However, if you consider that one of the celebrities presented below, had a successful weight loss experience, we strongly advise you to check the diet with your doctor before starting it. Following some of the next extravagant eating habits might be dangerous. Do mind that all celebrities have hired specialists to guide and check upon their progress daily!

1. Banana Diet
Catherine Zeta Jones and Miranda Kerr have adopted a rather curios lifestyle. They followed a so called ‘banana diet’. They ate, each morning, 2 bananas and 1 liter of water. Lunch and dinner was almost restriction free. The celebrities had only to avoid alcohol, sweets and pasta. Catherina and Miranda followed this diet for more than 1 month. The two divas claimed that the banana diet worked wonders for them and that they lost as much weight as they wanted.
Tip: This diet seems at least a little strange. Several studies have shown that bananas actually lead to weight gain!

2. Baby Food Diet
Reese WitherspoonFollowing a diet that recommends eating food, specially prepared for infants, is really fashionable amongst Hollywood celebrities. Jennifer Aniston, Lady Gaga and Reese Witherspoon are big adepts of this trend. They confirmed several times that baby food is their secret for maintaining their shape. The divas eat fruit and vegetable purées. Turkey meat, in the jar, with carrots and broccoli are also included. The baby food diet has pros and cons. Baby food is free of additives and rich in vitamins. It does offer good weight loss results. Amongst the cons is the fact that you risk gaining weight back once you quit the diet and the taste is not to good either.

3. Raw Food Diet
Cheryl ColeKatie Holmes, Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Cole have discovered the benefits of eating raw food. Tom Cruise’s spouse claimed that she easily lost 19 kg (42 lbs), following the raw food diet. She ate only fruits, carrots, broccoli, diary products and a special soup prepared from vegetable puree.
Fashion icon, Victoria Beckham, is also a big raw food fan. She admits eating fresh green beans, carrots, peas and celery, strawberries, blueberry and green salad.
Cheryl Cole is another organic food fan. She eats with pleasure raw spinach, asparagus and… onion!

4. The Part Time Diet
This is really a controversial weight loss diet. Plenty of singers and actresses follow this strange and dangerous diet. The part time diet is not recommended by any nutritionist. It can threaten your general health and the weight loss results are questionable. The part time diet is simple: you starve yourself one day, and you eat what you wish the following day. The starvation day allows you only to drink water. Following this unusual diet might lead cause you stomach damage. However, some celebrities risk everything for their silhouette.

5. Water and Lemon Diet
BeyonceBeyonce, Alicia Keys, Shakira and many other beautiful ladies followed the water and lemon diet. Drinking still water mixed with lemon on an empty stomach leads to appetite suppression. Celebrities end up eating less and losing weight.
Beyonce raised the stake for 14 days, just before the filming of the ‘Dreamgirls’ movie. She only ate still water with lemon, maple syrup and pepper to achieve quick weight loss, for an ideal body shape for the shootings. What a sacrifice for only a few pounds of weight loss. I guess that it’s one of the bills that you have to pay for being a celebrity!

    some of these diets are crazy. better eat the things you enjoy; just small portions!
