Emma decided to share her weight loss success story with all WeightLossBucket.com readers. She is a 37-year-old housewife from Manchester, who managed to lose 55 pounds within 12 months. Emma mailed us last week because she thinks that her story can help and inspire other weight loss seekers. Please appreciate Emma’s effort, read her weight loss experience and share your comments:
My name is Emma an I was a 231lbs (105 kg) female, a little over 1 year ago. At 5’7″ (1,74 m) everyone that looked at me was totally entitled to list me as obese. The main weight gain occurred during my pregnancy. Sadly, I could not lose to much weight after my son was born. I did lose only about 12 or 13 pounds (5-6 kilograms) and got stuck at the above mentioned weight.
Months passed but I wasn’t able to continue my weight loss. To be honest, I was still breastfeeding so I did not start any weight loss diet, I just hoped that I will return to normal weight without to much of a hassle. One day, after the breastfeeding period was completed, I looked at myself in the mirror and I had to be honest to myself: I was looking terrible! I just couldn’t accept my obese look, knowing that I was always an attractive, normal weight female. I decided that I have to take care of my body.
I started a weight loss diet. I did not follow any popular diet, I just tried to follow some simple but very efficient diet tips. I started to lose weight, slowly but surly and every dropped pound reinforced my determination.
First, I started to sort my meals and schedule them according to a healthy lifestyle. A very important fact is that I quit eating after 6pm. Only when I felt extremely hungry, I allowed myself to eat a yogurt or an apple in the evening.
Next, I eliminated all animal fats, fried food, sweets (especially sugar), sodas and the high calorie snacks from my menu. Positive weight loss results didn’t hesitate to appear. Here is an example menu from my diet:
Breakfast: A yogurt garnished with cereals and a sugar-free coffee, sweetened with a teaspoon of honey.
Lunch: Homemade vegetable soup.
Snack (4pm): An apple.
Dinner (6pm): Grilled chicken with salad (lettuce, coleslaw or anything similar)
After dinner I usually did not eat anything until the next morning. If I did feel to hungry or simply had to eat something, I either grabbed an yogurt or an apple or any low fat fruit like orange, peach or pineapple.
Following these simple diet tips I managed to lose 55 pounds withing 12 months. I currently weigh 165 lbs (75 kg) and I want to continue to lose weight until I reach the 154 lbs (70 kg) mark. I am extremely happy with my new weight and I feel great. I never want to be obese again. Good luck to everyone that is planning to lose weight. If I managed to do it, you can accomplish it too.
