Weight Loss Pills – Recommended or Not?

natural weight loss pills
It is incredibly tempting to revert to using weight loss pills and supplements. Many companies offer products that tell you that by using the pills you will lose weight incredibly quickly, but this is very rarely the case. A majority of these are chemically based and, throughout the medical profession, the advice is to stay completely clear of these. All of them have side effects including stomach cramps and diarrhoea; not an attractive proposition. But what of natural pills that have none of these issues? Again, advice is to steer well clear of these; it is much better to use conventional methods than to resort to the ‘easy option’.

Most natural weight loss pills act as hunger suppressants. UniqueHoodia and ProShape are two of the highest recommended but merely work by suppressing the appetite. Of course you will lose weight this way; it stands to reason that if you eat less, you will lose weight; and it is true that both these pills will help you to lose between 4 and 14lbs every month. Yet, this is to the detriment of your health as a whole. By suppressing your appetite, you are effectively starving yourself. When this happens you are not taking in the required vitamins and minerals that your body needs to function. This leads to tiredness and a lack of energy that makes you unable to exercise and, in the long-term, is much to the detriment of your quest for weight loss.

The majority of weight loss pills have a similar phrase written on them; ‘most effective when taken in conjunction with regular exercise and healthy eating’. The weight loss pills that don’t suppress your appetite actually do very little to help you lose weight. Their main effect is psychological – they will make you feel better about yourself and your body. This good feeling leads us to eat healthier and exercise more which is what makes us lose weight; it is not the pills! This psychological aid is useful, but can also be obtained after a week of exercise and the sight of the scales telling you you’ve lost weight. The only difference is that you don’t have to pay £200+ for the privilege.

Whilst you may decide to choose weight loss pills, this is not to be recommended as a substitute for traditional methods of losing weight. The pills are dangerous to health, are costly and merely give you a desire to exercise; something that can be attained for free with a little will power.

As mentioned before natural weight loss pills are not to helpful too. The most natural way to lose weight is exercising and following a balanced diet. This way you can be sure that you will be able to maintain your weight after dropping the extra pounds. The weight loss pills never guarantee that you will maintain your new weight after you stop using them.
