Zeltiq Cool Sculpting – Nonsurgical Medical Weight Loss Procedure

Zeltiq Cool Sculpting - Nonsurgical Medical Weight Loss Procedure which Freezes and Sucks Fat Away

Good news for everyone that simply can’t get rid of fat in some areas of the body. A reportage released a few hours ago informs that you now have an option for Liposuction called, Zeltiq Cool-sculpting. To make this news even better, Zeltiq is a non-surgical weight loss procedure which can sculpt away the fat from delicate areas such as hips and abdomen. The procedure is based on freezing fat cells with the help of a special cold patch and sucking it out using the Zeltiq weight loss device.

Rene’ Schultz, interviewed for this news, describes losing weight with this new, non surgical method, as painless.

“It is cold. It is cold. I don’t think it was painful. I think it went very easy.”

Dermatologic Surgeon Dr. William P. Coleman, who just got the Zeltiq weight loss machine, explains that the procedure is completed within the hour. He demonstrates the procedure in the above embedded video, having Mrs. Shultz, his tehnician, as a guinea pig patient.

Losing weight with Zeltiq seems to be permanent. With the device being relative new, two-year-long studies show that the weight loss is maintained. Dr. Coleman provides more details:

“We think it is going to be permanent…my colleagues that did the FDA trial in Boston and other cities, have indicated to me that the benefit does go on for a longtime.”

However nothing is perfect and this is can be said about Zeltiq Coolsculpting too. Dr. Coleman shares that one session removes only about 20% of the fat that would be removed by a similar, but surgical, Liposuction. He informs that a patient needs about 4 sessions in order to experience noticeable results. He also informs that this Zeltiq weight loss procedure is not to precise either:

“Like liposuction, the fat cell is going away. The difference is, is we can’t sculpt precisely the way we can with lipo and also with lipo we can remove as much fat as we think we need to at any given time.”

This non-surgical weight loss procedure provided by Zeltiq costs on average $1000 – $1,500. Pricing differs according to your geographical location, experience of the doctor, amounts of fat bulges that you want to freeze and suck out. Some charge per session while others per bulge. For example, Dr. Coleman informs that a procedure involving contouring of both love handles or the abdomen is valued at $1,500.

What is Zeltiq?
Zeltiq is in fact the company that produced this non-invasive technique for improving the body contour. The procedure is also called ‘Cryolipolysis’. As mentioned above the machine that helps suck frozen fat from delicate places of the body is also called, Zeltiq. It has been recently approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), while this same procedure was approved in Europe and Canada in 2009.

How does Zeltiq Cool-sculpting work?
This procedure is performed at the doctors office, by the doctor himself or under the supervision of a surgeon or dermatologist. Anesthesia is not needed and the patient can walk away from the office as soon as the 1-hour long procedure is completed. First the doctor marks the area where the Zeltiq machine head will be placed. A special patch is attached on the area that will receive the cool sulpting. This patch chills the area. The Zeltiq machine is used to suck tissue into a cup using mild vacuum pressure.

Zeltiq Cool Sculpting Side Effects!
The side-effects for this procedure are considered mild. An uncomfortable sensation of cold might be felt in the initial stage of the procedure. Skin will turn red immediately after the procedure while bruising can appear after a few hours. Other side effects can include tenderness, temporary dulling of sensation, tingling or cramping.
The Zeltiq machine is not recommended to pregnant women or to individuals hypersensitive to the cold.

The principle of the Zeltiq weight loss technique lies in isolating and freezing the fat cells on a certain area of the body. This will cause a normal inflammatory response which leads the body to naturally get rid of the damaged fat cells which are sucked away. However, I still consider that shaping your body can be performed through exercise and diet. Zeltiq cool sculpting should never be considered an alternative to a healthy lifestyle. Doctors recommend it to individuals which are relatively in shape but have moderate amounts of fat bulges that they want removed to healthy people that are to lazy to shape their bodies with the help of diet and exercise!

When will this treatment be available in Australia and are there any businesses currently performing it? If so where are they? Also how much are the treatments. I heard they were from $600 to $1200 depending on the size of the area. Are there a maximum number of areas that you can have it on?

Great information provided about the procedure. The only problem I have with it is the last statement in your article: “Doctors recommend it to to healthy people that are too lazy to shape their bodies with the help of diet and exercise!”

I take major offense to that; I have 3 herniated discs in my back which don’t allow me to exercise with the intensity I want and need to keep the fat from collecting in my abdominal area. Not to mention the steroid injections that go along with treatment of these discs which also cause me to gain weight. Diet alone is not enough for people like me. And not everyone has this procedure because they are ‘lazy’. Some do- I agree there.. But making a general statement like that is naive, at best.

Doctors recommend it to individuals which are (then they cross out) (and put) — to healthy people that are to lazy to shape their bodies with the help of diet and exercise!——
that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. You have never had a child i’m guessing. Some parts of the body have the HARDEST time being sculpted and is nearly impossible. lovely i’m wondering if you are for this procedure or not. You are probably the one who is lazy because before hardworking middle class single mothers and people spend 1k -1500k to get a small amount of fat frozen away with only one treatment I think we have exhausted other methods.

That set of pictures at the end is the worst photoshop job I’ve seen in a while. You should find a better retoucher to fake your photos for you.

Couldn’t you just do this at home basically for free using cold packs from your freezer?! The principle is that making fat cells cold will make your body absorb and get rid of them. Buy 4 large cold packs and put them in your deep freezer. Then you just pull up a fold of skin that you want less fat in and apply the cold pack. Swap it out for a fresh cold one every 15 minutes, do that for an hour and bam, you just saved $1,500 smackers!
